SYED WARIS ALI SHAH(R.A)(Waris Pak)

"Faridan, tum murid, tumri saath pushte N murid" (Faridan, I take you as my disciple and also your next seven generation). Haji Waris Ali Shah state this to Faridan Bibi when he visit to Ahmadpur, his ancestral home. Faridan Bibi was the second wife of Waris Pak's grandfather and she urges to Waris Pak to take her as a disciple. Courtesy the speech clarify that every child who born into Faridan Bibi's family became disciple of Haji Waris Ali Shah by default. In the early nineteenth century Haji Waris Ali Shah was born in Dewa Sharif in a family of Hussein syeds. His date of birth was 1809A.D according to some researches. At the age of three years his parents pass away and his grandmother brought him up. When he went to his preparatory school(Maktab), he was only five years old. From Maktab he learnt the Holy Koran by heart as other men do. When he was infant he didn't feed by his mother till the 10th day of Moharram, the Yaum-e-Aashurah(the day when Imam Husain his relatives and friends were killed in Karbala, now in Iraq).
He didn't read his books often but surprisingly replay correctly his lesson to his tutor. In his childhood he prefer to give sweets to the other children and distribute money among the poor rather playing with other children. At the age of eleven years he promised by his mentor and brother-in-law,Hazrat Khadim Ali Shah to make him his spiritual heir. when he was fifteen years old, he went to a long journey of twelve years to Saudi Arab(it wasn't exactly Saudi that time), Turkey, Rome, Iraq, Syria, France, Germany, Belgium and Russia. During his journey on foot he performed Haj ten times. While visiting to Constantinople he met the ottoman ruler, Sultan Abdul Majjid and was the guest of prince Bismarck in Berlin. According to his followers he was the first Sufi to visit Europe. After his journey to different countries he sifted to Dewa Sharif and preached the message of love to the people till his death in 1905. Every year millions of devotees visit to his Majar Sharif to pay homage to there saint. We noticed that there was so many people of different faith visiting to his Shirin throughout the year. Near to his Shirin, there was a grand Mosque and a Khaankaah(place for spritual salvation) as well as different shops selling sweets and souvenirs. 
The celebration of Urs is held on 1st safar every year, during the time there was a grand Mela take place. The Mela known as Dewa Mela which is one of the most popular of it's kind in the city of it's kind in the city of Barabanki each year.
