In Afghanistan and Iran(Persia) Amir Khusro is better known as Amir Khusro Balkhi or Amir Khusro Dehlavi. In Indian subcontinent He is one of the iconic image in the cultural history. in the year 1253 Amir Khusro was born in Patiyali in Etah(Utter Pradesh). Saif-ud-din Mahmud was his father from Turkey and his mother Bibi Daulat Naz belong to India. Amir Khusro was one of the greatest poet of India, his poetry was primarily in Persian and as well as in Hindustani language. And he was also the founder of both Hindustani classical music and Qawwali(devotional music of the Sufis) known as father of Qawwali.
As a disciple of Nizamuddin Auliya(R.A) of Delhi he was very mystic and a spiritual disciple. The musical instrument Sitar and Tabla was invented by Amir Khusro. He also introduce the Ghazal style of song into India which is still in use all over India and as well as Pakistan. This creative classic poet was associated with the royal empires of more than seven rulers of Delhi.
Amir Khusros life history is one of the inspiring one in our life. In the very young age he lost his father, after the death of his father he moved to Delhi with his maternal grand parents. He used to learn horse riding as well as martial art training.
In the year 1271 he compiled "Tuhfatus-Sighr" his first divan of poetry.
In the year 1272 he got his first job with king Balban's nephew Malik as court poet.
In the year 1276 he started working with Balban's son(Bughra Khan) as a poet.
In the year 1279 he wrote "Wastul-Hayat"(Khusro visited Bengal) as his 2nd divan.
In the year 1281 he employed by Balbans 2nd son(Sultan Mohammad) and he went to Multan with him.
In the year 1285 he participated in the war as a solder against invading Mongols, and was taken prisoner,but he escaped.
In the year 1287 he went to Awadh with Ameer Ali Hatim.
In the year 1288 he was completed "Qiranus-sa'dain" his first mathnavi.
In the year 1290 he was completed "Miftahul Futooh" his 2nd mathnavi and in 1294 he was finished "Ghurratul-Kamal" his third divan.
In the year 1298 his "Khamsa-e-Nizami" completed.
In the year 1310 he completed "Khazain-ul-Futuh" and become close to Nizamuddin Auliya(R.A).
In the year 1315 he completed "Duval Rani-Khizr khan", when Alauddin Khilji pass away.
In the year 1325 when Nizamuddin Auliya(R.A) died, Sultan Md-bin-Tughlug came to power and after six month Khusro pass away. Khusro tomb is next to that of his master in the Nizamuddin Auliya(R.A) Dargha of Delhi.
