One of the established gate of the Majar Sharif of Khwaza Garib Nawaz(R.A) in Ajmer is Jannati Darwaza. On the west side of the Majar Sharif this huge gate is situated. The shutter of the gate is coated in silver and a beautiful peace of art embedded on the gate. It is said that whoever performs the act of crossing the Jannati Darwaza toward the Holy Shrine and then walking along the side of the marble wall emerges into the open Corty and through the exit door on the south of the Holy Shrine and then continuously keep walking to the right to reach the Jannati Darwaza, this performance repeat six times( the gate should be crossed seven times only) will secure a place for himself in Heaven. These seven round performance should be act in one stretch.
The story goes that the great devotee and the principal Khalifa & Successor, Hazrat Shaik Qutubuddin Baktiyar Kaki(R.A) who had always held the feet of His peer-o-murshid as paradise itself in an ecstatic mood granted his boon to the gate. Any one irrespective of clan, creed and faith may performs the act of crossing the gate seven times in succession and reap the benefit of the efficiency of the boon.
The Jannati Darwaza open for four different times in a year.
(i) This gate is open from 1st Rajjab to 6th Rajjab.
(ii) On the festival of Idd-ul-fitar the gate is open from 2:30PM.
(iii) On the 6th day of Idd the Urs ceremony of Hazrat Khwaja Usman-E-Harooni, peer-o-murshid of Khwaza Garib Nawaz(R.A) the gate is open from early morning to 2:30PM.
(iv) The gate is also open on 10th Zilhijja from early morning to 2:30PM.
