TARAGARH FORT[(Majar Sharif of Hazrat Syed Meeran Hussain Mashadi Zaidi Shaheed(R.A)]

Taragarh Fort of Ajmer is the first fortress of India which was built on a high hill, according to Akbar-ul-Akhyar. The Majar Sharif of the Governor of Ajmer [(Hazrat Syed Meeran Hussain(R.A)] is situated at Taragarh Fort on the high hill point. In an encounter the governor laid down his life. Taragarh Fort is also known as Star Fort, which was constructed in the year 1354 A.D upon a hillside. The Fort have three different gateways name as Lakshmi Pol, Gagudiki Phatak and Phuta Darwaza. The most part of all three gateways are now in badly damaged. In the 16th century one of the largest battlement known as Bhim Burj the bastion on which a large cannon was once mounted (called Garbh Gunjan or Thunder from the womb). There is some very large water reservoirs in the Chauhan bastion which was used for the inhabitant during the water crisis. In the complex of the Fort there is a small places built for the concubines and wives of rulers known as Rani Mahal. As the time passes Rani Mahal lost most of it's attraction and glory. 
There was so many historic battles seen on this ancient Fort and has changed hands with the different ruler, like the Rajput, Maratha and the British during the long history. Raja Ajairaj Chawhan was the king of Sapadlaksh who was built Ajameru Doorg. Sapadlaksh territory having Sakambhari (now Sambharas his capital in the early section of 6th century A.D). Raja Ajairaj was also built the Ajmer town and the Ajaisar village which is lying in the south of Foy Sagar Lake, still honour the memory of his name. After conqurred the reign of Pithora Fort Sultan Sahabuddin Ghauri appointed Meera Hussain(R.A) as the Governor of the Fort. During the time of Qutb-ud-din-Ebak the garrison of Taragarh Fort was Meera Hussain(R.A), who also live in the Fort. Sultan Qutb-ud-din-Ebak was died in the city of Lahore when he was playing polo and fallen from the back of the Horse. When the news of Sultan's death reached Ajmer, immidiate night attack was take place on Taragarh by the Rajput and Thakur and entered in to the Fort. At that time the unaware Muslims were sleeping in the dark and most of them were killed on the attack and the rest of them fought back. But they all lost against the powerful enemy and were martyred, Meera Hussain(R.A) also among one of them. There was a mass mourning when the news of this tragedy reached to the Muslim of the city. Garib Nawaz(R.A) visited to the Fort with his followers and buried the martyres of Taragarh Fort after Namaz-e-Janaza. In the time the destruction of the Fort are left but followers visit the Majar Sharif of Meera Hussain(R.A) to pay homage to there Saint. Meera Hussain(R.A) was grandfather of Syed Jamaluddin(R.A) usually used to be at the service of Garib Nawaz(R.A). The festival of Urs is celebrated on 17th & 18th Rajab every year.
